Default Where do you buy comic books?

So my kid is learning to read and I figured he'd like comic books so that might encourage him to do more reading. When I was a kid I got them at the convenience store. Every 7-11 or Circle-K or whatever had a big wire rack of them...even grocery stores had them. None of them seem to have them anymore so where do you get them? Surely someone still sells comic books?

I'm not sure how to say this - you buy them at the comic book store.

There, I said it.

Local comic book shops. Barnes and Noble and Borders seem to stock them as well.

I don't know where there is one. I've never been in a comic book store. I don't think I could bring myself to go into one. I'd be afraid someone might see me and kick my ass and take my lunch money.

Get him more appropriate literature suited to his age. Comic books are marketed at a young teen to adult audience and most of the decent ones have content you don't want to be exposing your kid to, or themes that will be over his head anyway.

It was just a question. I wasn't shooting for any deep and meaningful analysis or anything.

Let me guess, you didn't see your first PG-13 movie untill you were 15, right?
