Default .25/.50 KK afraid of potential aces

I wasn't happy at all with how I played this. I let my opponent take control of the hand from the begining because I was afraid he might have AA, but didn't want to fold in case he had AK or QQ... I'd appreciate any advice.

You must raise that flop. Board is just way too connected to not protect your hand.

Reraise his ass all in preflop also.

I like preflop at higher stakes, although I'm told that at these tables you can push with KK preflop and get called by worse.

But if you flat called preflop, you HAVE to raise this flop.

Also, I like a river value bet here. You've played the hand so weakly that a moran with AK might try and snap off your "bluff"

The hand plays much differently when you do this (and you should).

Make it $15 to go pre-flop. Re-raising all-in pre-flop isn't good because you are only getting called by AA. Push any flop that doesn't have an A.

Thanks, very helpful. I think I really need to work on putting my opponents on ranges of hands, and then not just focusing on the hands that have me beat...

Results:

opp had AKo

I know it doesn't matter. But, I was following the FAQ for this group. If people don't like to see the results at the end of a thread, the FAQ should be modified:

I encourage you to save your hand history, post the version without showdown, and then later come back with the results. After you receive a good number of replies, update ASAP with what happened. We'd like to know.
