What to do to become a floor manager.
I'm going to get flamed for this.
But I was wondering what steps I should take to become a floor. I've heard going to unlv. I've heard start out as a dealer. I don't know what to do. Also are there any jobs I can get a casino without schooling beforehand? I live in southeast michigan and i have 3 (or 4) casinos I could choose to work at. Thanks for any help. |

Re: What to do to become a floor manager.
i think you misunderstood how i phrased it. I want to get a job in a casino now (not as a floor). Then either move up to a floor or get the necessary training to do so. So in essence are there any entry level posistions at a casino. If so what are they?

Accounting, human resources, marketing, food service, receptionist, clerical, host etc. Same as any other business. But I'll bet most of those jobs require experience in that field.

Re: What to do to become a floor manager.
You don't need schooling, but you do need experience.
Fortunately, this is the type of "promotion" that offers little competition for the job. Most dealers don't want to floor. They make more money dealing, and they enjoy the occasional or frequent EO. So go deal for a year or two, and if a floor position opens up where you're working, ask the boss to consider you for it. There's a good chance no one else will ask for it, and it will be yours. |

how much do dealers/floors make? [/ QUOTE ] Delears usually min wage plus tips. Varies from casino to casino and by area of the country. Floors: varries from casino to casino and area. I've seen as low as 120/day and as high as 200/day. |

WOW! You "decide" you want to be a dealer/floor in a casino, then after finding out how, you want to know how much they make. Hahahahaha! I think you are perfectly qualified to be a dealer, and probably have better decision making abilities than most floor people already.
