Default Getting comped a room at the taj

I've been to the taj mahal in AC a handful of times, mostly just playing poker. I've never stayed there and i was wondering what i can do, or how to get comped a room for a saturday night. i know all the typical ways of scoring a comp but that's all in other table games, and i'm not willing to go blow a grand on Blackjack or roulette to get a free room. What does a poker player have to do in order to get a room??? any ideas would be greatly appreciated

You will not be able to get a poker rate room ($65) at Taj on a Saturday without consistent high limit play. I play 75-150 pretty regularly there and it's a pain in the ass for me. During the week, it's pretty easy for anyone with some established play.

The casinos want your money and your play. If you're not
willing to risk your money by playing... why would they give
you a free room? Sure, they can make rake off of you being
at a poker table and participating... but that's why they have
poker rates for rooms.

I play $25 craps every once in a while and that makes me
eligible for 2 night during the weekdays at Caesars most
months. If you really want a comped room... I suggest you
learn how to play conservatively at table games while not
dropping 1K.

Oh, and different casinos are different about what qualifies
you for a room. If you go to a smaller, crappier casino
it's much easier to qualify playing lower limits. Ask a pitt
boss for more details.

If this still doesn't interest you, get used to paying for rooms.

It's amazing how many poker players here want free rooms without playing table games. Seriously, what a bunch of nits.

It's nuts... but slot players earn crazy amounts of comps and
the casinos make loads of money off of slot players. And, if
played correctly on the right machine, video poker can be +EV.

its pathetic, do these people really think that the casino owes them free rooms for no reason, or are they just [censored] stupid?

i'm guessing the latter.

Contrary to what other people have said, you can get a weeknight room at the Taj for 130 comp dollars. In addition, you can use comp dollars to pay for a Borgata poker rate room ($125 on the weekend).
