2nd barrel?
party poker 6 max 400 nl
stacks ~ 260 UTG limps, I raise to 18 with 9cTc, folded to UTG who calls. Pot ($42) Flop: Jh Js 4d UTG checks, I bet 35, utg calls. Pot ($112) Turn: Kh UTG checks, I bet 75. On turn I put UTG on either a lone Jack or a pocket pair smaller than jacks. I figure he folds the pair since the king hit and calls or raises the jack. blake |

Re: 2nd barrel?
Seriously, don't you ever have any reads? It makes it very very tough to give qualified advice when you don't even know if he's super loose or Nitty McNit.
Preflop: There are a lot of players I wouldn't isolate with T9s, namely calling stations, vs. them I'd much rather limp along and go for a multiway pot. Versus a somewhat tight player raise all day long and take the pot away. Postflop: Again, here it's so read dependant, against some players I like it alot others I hate it. But one thing I have to say is that you should NEVER expect ANYONE to fold a lone jack, NOONE ever does that without misclicking. I agree a smaller pocket pair is very likely, but just given the hand history it's impossible to say wheter you can push him off it. |

Re: 2nd barrel?
I'd much prefer to do this if an ace hit the turn, easier to rep. and then you wouldn't have a straight draw. With the right read I might fire again, but without one I'd just check and take my draw.

Re: 2nd barrel?
I think your assesment is spot on and a good spot for a 2nd barrell it's most likely a pocket pair looking you up on the flop.
If he slow plays TJ or AJ you'll stack him with a Q on the river. Other than that you can safely fold to any aggression . I like to 2nd barrell when a) I can represent a likely hand (as above) B) I can put oponent on a draw and push him off . anyone got some other situations? |
