Haven't posted here much because I've been playing a lot of ring lately, but thought this was a moderately interesting hand.

I have mixed feelings on it.

Villain's meh. Little on the aggro side.

Go.

I fold real fast preflop. I fold real fast after the board pairs on the turn. Nothing personal, but I really have no clue what you are doing here.

I think he's either value betting or semi-bluffing. But I don't play the $215s.

Alright, I'll throw some thoughts out here to hopefully snowball discussion:

Preflop: I pretty much never fold this here pf. Sometimes I make it 225 instead. If you look at the stacks behind me, it's unlikely that anyone will push over top, except maybe CO, but because he's CO and I've raised he can only do that with a tight range. I like opening from the hijack because while it is in late position, people are generally more likely to give you credit for a hand and not [censored] with you. Anyways, I end up taking down the blinds some or playing with position a lot and I don't really mind either with this hand.

Flop: Meh. I sometimes c-bet here, but I really didn't liket his flop much. Any pp over 55, any Q, or any draw is c/ring all-in likely so I wanted to see what he did on the turn taking it away if he checked to me again. And a free card couldn't hurt.

Turn: Well, he bet, but that's actually a pretty good card for me. My equity is like 25-30% against most of his range, so this bluff doesn't have to work that much to be profitable. Given the way I played it I think it's really hard for him to call with a PP, I think he's got and folding air or a draw a reasonable amount of the time, and, yes, sometimes I lose to a Q or 5 or some heroic call.

Question is does it work enough to be a good play.

either fold or raise more preflop.

flop is safe enough to follow up a c-bet, imo.

the turn push is eh. not terrible, but i'm not crazy about you risking your tourney life when you don't even know how strong he is.

I like it! The open-raise here is pretty standard, I thought.

I like it but I'm not sure if you have enough of a stack on the turn to produce enough FE for it to be effective. Meh, it's a close one. Pf and flop are pretty standard if you ask me. It's not a nice spot on the turn, I'd have to be at the table to decide whether I folded or pushed. I think calling's out, naturally.

I think all this talk about preflop is a little strange. I think it is by far the least interesting part of the hand and is in fact very standard.

I would never fold here pf. I would also almost never raise more than 250. Doing so just risks more chips while accomplishing the exact same thing. If they're calling a raise to 250, they're calling one to 300.
