2/4 JJ played well?
Hi all, first post. Did I play this correctly? I'm thinking I should have bet the river since MP2 wouldn't (at least shouldn't) call a raised turn with a flush draw, which is why I waited till the turn to fire.

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
You should raise the flop there. There is a straight and flush draw possible and you do not want to give a free card there. Pound the hell out of the flop with your set. The rest of the hand was played fine

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
Waiting for the turn to raise is bad. You are letting MP2 continue on the flop if he has a weak draw like a gutshot.
Even if you knew he had a flush draw he is getting enough implied odds to call two bets on the turn. |

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
I agree with that, You have to make him pay for his draws on the flop to protect your set with a flop like that

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
Slow playing this set here isn`t the right thing to do, IMO. There are (BD)FD and (BD)SD. U should reraise the Flop, lead the turn and depending on stats b/c or c/c riv. Without reads c/c the riv.

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
Way to much trouble to slow play. Ih he has queen he may 3 bet and you cap. Make them draws costly

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
MP2's turn call is fine, he has immediate implied odds (the BB calling your raise) to call with only a flush draw. In reality, he could well have more outs than that (or at least think he does).
You have to raise the flop. As it is, the player behind you has enough equity to call one bet with a pretty big range. |

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
Fold river. He has a flush 100% of the time.

Re: 2/4 JJ played well?
Raise and cap flop if possible.
Check/call river is probably okay - but you might have already won if you had raised the flop. AB |
