Default (OT) SilverStar FreeRoll

So I'm not playing poker today, but registered for the SilverStar freeroll that takes place in an hour or two, just to see how high I would finish, not playing a hand.

So, since we dont know the field size, how much of the field will I outlast? I say 65%.

Take your guesses, if you dare.

Nick

I'd say you are about right. If you are sitting out I think it will be like 55%ish but if people don't know you aren't playing any hands they might let you have a key BB here and there and you might beat 75%.

2.5K freeroll with (as i type this with 1hr 20 till start) 440 entrants, if you have any friends (newb or not) willing to play, id let them have a crack at the game and they can keep whatever they win.

Problem with that is....

I dont think I know ANYONE IRL that knows how to play poker, but would see this tourney as +EV, and I would trust them logging into my PS account to play.

I know lots of people online who I would trust to play, but none of them would think it is +EV to play in this.

I think ~30% of the field is gonna be sitting out, so I'd say it depends a lot on where you get knocked out in relation to them.

there were 4-6 people on my table sitting-out.

I already busted....one dude was going all-in on about 1/3 of his hands.
I raised pre-flop a couple times and folded to his all-in.

Then I raised his BB with TT and he went all-in again. So I called and he just happened to have AA.

The table is still up on my screen and I see that he just won another big pot right now with another AA....and 10 secs later hit his flush with K6s.
He's up to $6800 now.

Lots of early busts and even more ridiculous play than normal in this thing.

I'm in this, only 2 people sitting out at my table.

Since we have to manually register for these, that will keep most of the no show's down. I'd expect only 20-30% of the advance registrations not to show up.

Doing decent so far, I dont think it will take long for these tournies to have a huge field though (atleast the silver ones).

I thought the no-shows would be minimal to for the same reason.

but it ranged from 4-7 no-shows on my table. I was pretty surprised.
