If you're into pop at all, this song should blow your hair back. It was posted on pitchfork (flame me now please) yesterday, but I think all the pitchfork traffic absolutely blasted the Memphis Industries site, so it was hard to get at yesterday. Girl-pop featuring 3 cute-at-the-very-least girls. I think the girl with black hair is my favorite, but the platinum blonde is cute too (and has an amazing voice).

But when "Your Kisses Are Wasted on Me" hits its chorus, the gimmicks melt away. One Pipette coos mightily in a full, feathery voice, "And you might cry for some time/ And you might try to hold my hand again." (Holy crap, where have those pipes been hiding?) Another Pipette interjects: "But you don't know it! But you don't know it!" Behind them, their backing band's wall of sound finally becomes a Wall of Sound, thanks to the divinely intervening hands of producers Andy Dragazis (Blue States) and Gareth Parton (The Go! Team).

Those strings! Those bells! It's an ex-lover's concerto.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure the review pertains to the album version considering I can't recall any strings or bells in the video. But whatever, you get the gist...The platinum blonde has a ridiculous voice...

Yeah, I thought I heard them, but all I can pay attention to is the blonde's voice. I love it. Maybe it's not her voice, just the melody...but damn.

EDIT: Ok, yeah, the strings are obviously as all hell. I'm a dork. Wow. But damn, they're obvious.

You are pretty much not very good. Listened to a dittybop song...It was ok, but I bet they play their own instruments. That's not what I'm going for here...

I'm listening now, I'll chime in later. But um...yeah, how about those Pipettes. Also, I hope I remember to listen to this Bound Stems lounge act. I just picked up their new EP and it's pretty swell. Picked up the M's album, but haven't given it a listen yet.
