order of showing hands
Quick question. Player A is SB. Player B is in MP. Player C is on button.
preflop: MP raises. Button Calls. SB calls. flop: SB checks. MP checks. Button bets. SB calls. MP folds. turn: SB checks. Button checks. river: SB checks. Button checks. Who has to show their hand first? Does this answer depend on who was most aggressive on the previous street since both players checked the river or is it completely based on postion? |

Re: order of showing hands
When no action takes place on the river, you start with the small blind and work clockwise from there. That is the technical way.
If there were betting on the river, the last person to make aggressive action (raise or bet, not call), has to show first. |

Re: order of showing hands
Thats what I figured. I guess the table pressured me (button) into showing after I said SB has to first. It's hard to argue against the majority. SOBs.

Re: order of showing hands
It really doesn't matter to me, since people could ask to see your hand anyway...

Re: order of showing hands
This is def the way it's supposed to work, but Borg uses last aggressive action on a checked river. And I think it SUCKS. That is all.

Re: order of showing hands
It depends on the casino. At the Taj, if it is checked through on the river, SB shows first. At the Borgata, last aggressor on prior round (i.e. the button in this case) shows first.

Re: order of showing hands
I have actually played places (in Cal) where if there is no action on the river, the cards have to be revealed in reverse order, from the button back to the small blind. This makes no sense to me at all. The easiest way is just table your cards, take the pot, and move on. So much time is wasted when 2 people are arguing back and forth on who has to show first. Geez.

Show your damn cards and move on. Show your cards and move on, and the precious information you're so desperate to hide goes largely unnoticed and forgotten. Call attention to the fact that you're trying to hide something by arguing, and you give everyone something to notice and remember. |

Re: order of showing hands
There are several rooms that go with the last aggressor rule if there is no betting on the river... better rule is to show in order...
