Default A really great day

Ever had a day when things just went great all day? Even if something stupid or annoying happens, something else comes right along behind it to easily put you back in a good mood? Today (and most of yesterday) is turning out pretty damned good for me so far.

Yesterday I had my front lawn sprinklers fixed (I can't fix anything for [censored], and even if I could I'm too lazy.) I was fully expecting to pay $500 or more...came out to $310. Yes! After that, I got a good haircut, bought a lot of groceries, and made some pretty good fajitas. Throw that in with some Law and Order reruns...a nice way to end the day.

This morning, just before I started exercising...my nose started bleeding. WTF...I get a good nosebleed about six times a year (ref. Accutane thread.) After I stopped my nose from leaking like a faucet, I had one of the best workouts I've had in a while. Got online to see if my paycheck hit, and it did...along with a nice bonus that I didn't expect at all. Oh hell yeah! Forgot to iron my shirts this weekend (see lazy thread) so I was late leaving for work. Normally I-40 to work is all f*&#ed up where I get on because no one knows how to merge. Clear sailing today...actually made it to work at a reasonable time.

I get in the office, and everyone's all smiles. Or maybe it's just me. My co-workers are having computer problems, but not me. And there's a new potted plant on my desk, which does help since we have no windows. I only have one real thing to do today, so I think I'll knock that out early and pick my NCAA bracket. Sounds like a plan. Hey! Another co-worker just dropped off a bracket for me! Cool man!

How's your day going? If you're having a great day, enjoy it and remember it when things get [censored]. If you're having a [censored] day, just cool out and roll with it. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Scottie,

Got up this morning had some delicious OJ and yogurt. Then played a couple of hours of tennis at 9am. The tennis courts where I live are on top of the six-story garage with a nice view of the Bay and city. It was sunny, crisp, and clear. A really beautiful day with no wind. Perfect conditions.

Then, I came home and relaxed for a while, then dumped a perfect log, like a foot long solid continuous. Just perfect.

Now I'm heading to the Ferry Building to get a vietnamese sandwich and Vietnamese coffee from the Slanted Door.

this is key to any "good day"

whenever it chips off and I have to spend like 18 minutes wiping away...my day is no longer salvageable

The non-wipe logs are best; no better feeling than wiping and gettin nothing.

It's called an 'immaculate conception'. I'm not kidding.

LOL.

It's true, though, dropping a big log makes any day better, especially if it comes out right away without the necessity of prolonged negotiations.

Some of my greatest days have involved dropping two full loads over the course of the day, and twice in my life I was actually so blessed as to drop three full loads, all solid. I really should have marked those days down and turned them into yearly anniversaries, because those days were close to the happiest I've been.
