A request for this forum...
Can people ask legitimate probability questions??
Questions like "What are the chances 2 of my opponents both have pocket aces when I have kings on 2 consecutive hands??" really don't have much value. You and I both know the answer though... Its about 1 in a zillion. Move on. Bruce, it may help if you had a FAQ's for this forum that explains/answers some of the common questions.. 1.) What is the prob. of hitting a flush? 2.) What is the difference between probability and odds?? 3.) Perhaps an example of how to calculate some common probabilities. 4.) The [censored] monty hall problem. 5.) A link to twodimes.net I really love probability, and I like hearing how Bruce and Aaron Brown think about the problems they solve, so this forum is important to me. just a suggestion for a way to clean up this forum a little. |

Re: A request for this forum...
People obviously use this probability forum to recover from tilt mode.
Every day I read this imbecile questions and I honestly hope that those people do not really expect an answer, let alone that it would help in any way to improve future decisions. So, I just don't care. |

Re: A request for this forum...
I get the same results with RocketManJames' formula as I do with mine, not his answer. (that is, you're good if your opponent has PP greater than yours < 70%)
