Default Looking for some more info on the LI Casino Boat

Hey all, I ran a search and found some info but have a few more specific questions. Replies are much appreciated.

Im going on the Freeport boat this weekend as part of a charity event, and was dreading it until I found out they spread poker on the boat, and now I psyched. First off, I wanted to know if they spread Limit. Ive been looking through the archives here people have only mentioned playing NL.

Second question, do they serve food and alcohol?

Any additional anecdotes or info would be great too.

Thanks!

I've made the trip about 15 times, though none since November. During those times, I saw limit poker (3/6) spread exactly once. There are usually two 1/2NL tables and sometimes a 5/5nl table. It helps if you are a maniac to play in these games. I've seen UTG open for $50 with JTo, and get 5 callers. This was at a 1/2 table. A typical preflop raise with a medium pair is $20-30. There are a large number of regulars who make the trip twice a day, though on the weekends there are also some tourists.
Buy-ins for the 1/2 game are $50-300. I think the 5/5 game goes to $500.

Food and alcohol are available, but unlike the other table games, poker players must pay for alcoholic beverages. Soft drinks are free.

I strongly suggest that you take non-drowsey Dramanine about an hour before you board. I'm a lifelong boater and I still get a bit queasy on this boat without the Dramamine. I think it's because while you're playing you have the perception that you're in a normal casino, but your equilibrium is thrown off.

I forgot the most important thing...Go to the poker room (on the 3rd deck) as soon as you board and put your name on the list. Don't wait until the ship leaves the dock or you won't get a seat.
