Default comped rooms???

A friend of mine is going down to the Taj this week and he asked me to come. I asked him if he wanted to split the room and he said no, cuz he gets them comped. He doesn't play any table games, and I've only ever seen him play 1-2 NL. As a steady 2-5 NL player, I have never gotten comped a room!!! Do I have to ask for one? Is my friend bullshooting me?

He could get the poker rate for his play midweek (on weekends, it's very difficult to get if you don't play high limits). The poker rate is $65. When he says they're comped, he probably just means he has enough comp dollars in his account to cover it.

I play at a Native run casino in Michigan (Soaring Eagle) and they obviously are not a vegas operation, they comp 1 dollar/hour that you are in the poker room regardless of the game you are playing. They also send via mail vouchers for cheap food/meals/hotel rooms. You usually just have to join the players club at the casino to qualify for stuff like that...just go ask someone who works there...casinos love giving away stuff.

At the Taj, you get get a room for 130 comp dollars. That is probably what he meant.
