An interesting situation that acutally happened
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t8000 (9 handed) converter
BB (t12273) UTG (t20330) UTG+1 (t66312) MP1 (t37776) MP2 (t36570) MP3 (t8718) CO (t37009) Button (t10245) Hero (t28698) Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 7 folds, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (t15200) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets t8000, BB folds. Final Pot: t23200 BB has 3800 chips after posting BB. Tournament is currently hand-in-hand with 120 players remaining, and 1 away from the money. Everyone wins the same entree to a second tournament. I'm pretty sure I've played it right. How about BB? Whats the minimum hand you need to call the flop? |

Re: An interesting situation that acutally happened
I would just fold preflop in your spot. Just wait for someone to get knocked out.

[/ QUOTE ] This is possibly the worst advice i've ever heard... it's HU between you and the blinds, you have an A and you're getting like 4-1 on your call, and good odds if you put him all in, plus there is the (strong) chance that he folds hoping to make the money. |

Re: An interesting situation that acutally happened
I actually think folding preflop might be right....depending on how short lots of other stacks are.

Re: An interesting situation that acutally happened
Fold preflop. If I am BB, I fold anything on the flop, including an ace high flush.

betgo, the problem with that is that you will be all-in on the SB next hand if nobody is eliminated.

With 120 players, there is good chance of someone busting this hand or the next. I might also check the other tables to see if people were busting out. Obviously, you have to call with an ace high flush, even if it looks like others are going to bust out. Hero should fold preflop and check/fold the flop. |

Re: An interesting situation that acutally happened
let me get this straight:
You are one spot from the money. Everyone in the money receives the same prize. And you're still playing? I understand that you cover the BB and that he may fold here hoping someone busts on this hand, but come on. Playing at this point is horribly gigundously -EV. |
