Does weird betting amounts mean anything?

Sometimes (mostly at Prima) I see guys, obviously on a PL or NL table, betting like weird amounts in the cents. instead of $2 or $4 I see bets like 3.24 or 5.84. Is there anything to this? It's not just from one guy either. I have notes on several guys and I guess I am wondering if there is some known used of betting codes for colluders...of course if they were colluding...why wouldn't they just use IM or some other device for easier communication. I dont know...any thoughts?

You'd need to watch them for quite some time to see if any patterns are present. As far as collusion, if you expect it just e-mail the site and have them look into it.

Many players bet strange amounts with very strong hands. Don't the strange amounts make you want to call down to find out what hand was worth betting $8.51 on the flop?

Some players also bet odd amounts to make the stack of chips look larger, disguising the fact that their bet was small.

could have to do with the sliders causing strange amounts. That said, I'm a FL player and really don't know.

The slider doesn't do that on any site/skin I have seen.

I do this sometimes on party because the bet scroll will only raise in odd increments and im to lazy to type in a raise.

I remember when I first ever saw that it was in a MTT and I thought they were doing it to make it look like they were all in (if you lacked the mental fitness to check their stack size, or you just were playing a zillion tables). Now that I see it all the time, I really just have no clue.

The new party slider does this. Its quite annoying.

I don't do it online but at my home game, I'm known to use odd bets to induce calls, now I do it when I'm bluffing because I'm known for doing it on strong hands.
