Default J9o in SB, turn OESD on 3-flush board

Live $4/$8

MP and LP are both loose and fairly passive, I doubt that either of them would try a bluff or semi-bluff raise on any street, although they might make a semi-bluff bet or bet a busted draw on the river

5 limpers including MP and LP, I complete in SB with Js9d, BB checks (7sb)

flop is Tc9s2c

I bet and get 4 callers including MP and LP (6bb)

turn is 8c

I bet with the intention of folding if raised, MP and LP call (9bb)

river is 3d

I check, MP checks, LP bets, I fold, MP folds

How was my flop bet? Is the bet/fold turn line good? Should I have check/called or bet/folded the river instead of check/folding?

You can't fold the turn because you're open ended after the 8 hits.

You're getting 10-1 on a river call. You're good way more often than that.

Edit: I missed that the turn was a club. As played, you still have to bet the turn. But the river call is much closer. I still think you should do it though. Jesse, I think you're discounting how often LP's hand is a bluff.

I don't like the flop bet. I'd check and re-evaluate when it gets back to me. If the bet is on my right, I'm likely to raise, but I could also see folding.

On the turn I like your bet, but you have to call if somebody raises. The pot is getting big and you really can't give him credit for the flush yet.

I'd cry and call on the river, but this could be spew. Honestly you beat almost nothing.

Snowball (11:03:19 PM): that's more of a reason to bet it

Snowball (11:05:16 PM): lol why?

strictlystrategy (11:05:21 PM): They don't call down light like that.
strictlystrategy (11:05:31 PM): Like they'll call with AKs more than J2s
Snowball (11:05:43 PM): yeah they do I have played 4/8
strictlystrategy (11:05:51 PM): Well if it's some berzerko Cali game where weird siht happens
Snowball (11:05:59 PM): they can't read hands
strictlystrategy (11:06:00 PM): Of course not, but they have "nothing"
Snowball (11:06:14 PM): ummm, this is 4 dollar 8 dollar hold em
Snowball (11:06:19 PM): these people are subhumanoid
strictlystrategy (11:06:14 PM): Like, it basically depends, wihtout reads though I don't bet, and it's kinda close.
Snowball (11:06:36 PM): without reads it's a super easy bet
Snowball (11:06:45 PM): if I think they are tight passive I checkfold
Snowball (11:06:52 PM): I need a read to not bet
Snowball (11:07:12 PM): the average 4/8 limit player is...
strictlystrategy (11:07:11 PM): Live $4/$8

MP and LP are both loose and fairly passive,
Snowball (11:07:25 PM): retarded as all hell
strictlystrategy (11:07:18 PM): They'll call with AT
Snowball (11:07:28 PM): yeah
Snowball (11:07:33 PM): LOOSE
strictlystrategy (11:07:31 PM): and passive Jordan.
Snowball (11:07:40 PM): they also call with something silly
strictlystrategy (11:07:35 PM): Yes.
Snowball (11:07:49 PM): so let them
Snowball (11:07:55 PM): they can't call if u don't bet imo
strictlystrategy (11:07:49 PM): Or let them call with a hand that has us beat.
Snowball (11:07:57 PM): afaik
Snowball (11:08:11 PM): ok, that's why it is called a value bet?
strictlystrategy (11:08:10 PM): You'll see Q9 here and lol @ yourself because you were getting a free showdown
Snowball (11:08:31 PM): so what. you are a slight favorite when called
Snowball (11:08:50 PM): u have 2nd freaking pair
Snowball (11:09:02 PM): and no one has shown any strength
strictlystrategy (11:08:55 PM): And a meh kicker
Snowball (11:09:07 PM): JACK KICKER
Snowball (11:09:08 PM): !!!
strictlystrategy (11:09:03 PM): They're passive, they don't show strength.

Drawing to the 2nd best hand that might be a chop if it's good is not my idea of a good time.
These guys are passive. they don't raise 2 pair on the turn when the flush card hits. Calling down is silly, and I only like to play silly in large pots.

Preflop: Call if you are good, fold if you are bad.

Flop: I'n probably not leading JT here so I'm definate not betting J9.

Turn: Fine

River: Bet for value. I guess folding to passive guys bet is ok but really bet/folding is much better.
