Bad flop shove w/ 88? (NL $100 Heads-up)
Villain is 52/42/3.5 over 120 hands (all HU)
OK - Villain and I had been going at it for a while. He was an OK player def better than avg I feel. He has already taken a couple of buy ins from me on standard unlucky stacking hands. He has also been raising my c-bets a ton recently, thus I thought he was bullying. Looking back I feel I might have been on semi-tilt and that this shove smells like pure spew. What do ya'll think? Re: Bad flop shove w/ 88? (NL $100 Heads-up)
looks pretty standard for any HU match against a fairly aggro opponent, especially with history. He's bluff-raising you a ton on this type of board since you 3-bet PF.. there's only one raise left and that's all you can really do.. in HU against aggro opponents you're going to go broke in these types of situations, there's not much you can do about it if he has a propensity to raise c-bets a lot. I make stands against aggro's with far less than an overpair to the board, sometimes they have a hand I'm destined to go broke with, most other times they're just full of [censored] or have a 7.

Re: Bad flop shove w/ 88? (NL $100 Heads-up)
seems ok to me. like marwan said. only one option left and if the history is as stated then he MUST be coming over your Cbets with air or at least not much on occasion.
One thing to be factored in I think is that if he has a brain at all he KNOWS you're going to make a stand eventually so with each hand is LESS likely to come over the top. As is though, trust your read here and go for it. 52/42 is ridiculous! |
