Range for stop n go? 5r
No reads on villain really. I was trying to stove this and had trouble coming up with a range here. I would think he is pushing pairs like 77+,AK,AQ pf but who knows. What kinda range you think?

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
I doubt hes pushing with an overpair unless hes got TT or JJ.
If he just has paired the board then you got about 33% and the odds are 14-13. These arent good odds for a call. If hes stop n going with atc then: Board: Kh 6s 9c Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 53.414% 52.37% 01.05% 6725088 134451.00 { QJs } Hand 1: 46.586% 45.54% 01.05% 5848290 134451.00 { random } So you beat a bluff only and just by a small margin. I lean to a fold here. You have plenty of chips left. I prbly dont raise preflop here either since the blinds dont really help you if it folds around and it sucks building a big pot with a weak easily dominated hand. |

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
odds are like 2-1 on the call so 33% would be ok.

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
oh crap you're right. I still think its a fold here though. You're most likely going to need to improve. I would save the 10% of my stack.

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
I know you are getting 2-1, but what hands are you ahead of? Any pair, Ace high, King high are all beating your hand right now. All you are ahead of is a terrible bluff. 2-1 is nowhere near good enough odds to call here, I personally think this is a fold.

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
Also sharkscope, the board is 869 not K89. secondly, it doesnt matter how much of my stack it is, if its +EV im taking it so i dont really care about anything else or than whether its +EV or not. Same for Burnley, thats fine if Im behind nearly all the time as long as the pot is offering me odds to chase.

odds are like 2-1 on the call so 33% would be ok. [/ QUOTE ] Hmm, I've always thought that you don't call in a spot like this unless the pot is laying bigger odds than the odds of hitting your hand. Assuming you have 10 outs which = 3.6-1 vs 2-1 in the pot. What am I missing here? |

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
My thinking there is 66%:33% Im a 2:1 dog against his range. So as long as Im getting 2:1 or better the call is fine. Correct me someoene if Im wrong.

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
if you have 10 outs the call is fine...
alot of times i've seen this be top 2 pair with 89... he might even have 78... in which case your 10 and overs are still golden given the odds |

Re: Range for stop n go? 5r
Mark,
Your call is correct using 10 outs which gives you 1.6-1 or 38%. Timmay- you are confusing two cards to come which is 1.6-1 with one card to come being 3.6-1. |
