Default More Bluffing

Guy is running about 20/8 over small sample. No particular reads.

I think check behind on flop is fairly standard. On the turn he makes this small bet that I think might be some kind of weird blocking bet with jacks, but I don't really know. So I call because I think I have decent odds to hit an A or a K and because I'm a calling station and can't fold when someone bets 1/4 pot like that. On the river I have no showdown equity, but I think I can def rep the A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], and put in a kind of value-sized bet. I doubt he has the nut or 2nd nut flush, and he might fold a smaller one. Obviously I hope a lot of the time he won't have a flush at all and will have to fold.

Thoughts?

(Pot sizes were prob a bit smaller than below due to rake.)

I like it. I do this fairly often and it works out usually. Against a good player you have to bet that flop though I would think. I doubt youre checking behind the A of hearts in a 3 bet pot normally.

I like it. You consistently represent 1 hand, and villain is probably weak.

You're right actually, that had completely escaped my mind. That prob makes it a bit worse. But I'm not sure how far he can assume I wouldn't check the Ah behind (no history really), and he'll still have to fold a lot of the same hands.

I cbet this flop.

Rest is basically spew unless villain is really dumb/scared, because no one ever checks behind a big heart on that flop in a 3bet pot.

i cbet. turn is ok, i assume we are checking behind most rivers if poss? river looks ok, maybe bet a bit more, but pot size issues with the HH could be complicating things.

Just make your standard c-bet on the flop. I don't really know what you are trying to rep on the river? AhXh?

Doesn't make sense because you would likely bet the flop with a big heart.

i don't see why we have to be able to represent a big heart for this to be ok.

1. villain doesn't look particularly good so he may not assume we would mostly cbet with a big heart.

2. i don't expect us to fold out a 'smaller' flush much, or for villain to have one very often after his river check. i think villain's range contains enough weak pairs for this to be fine.

edit: oh i think i see what you are saying. because this is a rr pot, there really aren't any hands that contain a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in our range that we would want to check the flop with.. that's quite a good point, and would certainly make this bad against a reasonable opponent. not sure against this guy.

Almost every hand you are representing would have bet the flop here, unless you are making a suicidal value bet with a pocket pair + heart like J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I think you get looked up here a reasonable amount of the time.
