Re: FT $6.50 TT utg
I suppose a limp or a raise to T120 are fine utg. I'm firing about 2/3 pot on flop no matter what unless you know BB is aggro and likes to play back at you. I'd probably fire a 2nd barrel at a blank turn if villain is a donk station. There are a million cards that you don't wanna see at the next street, and your hand is probably best on the flop, and you have position. I'd expect to get cr'd by a 6.5 donk on this flop if he shows up with the goods.

I raise pre. As played bet flop 100 and freeze on turn if called.

Re: FT $6.50 TT utg
I can't say for sure what is standard, as I typically play on stars, and FT blind structures make me feel funny, but my typical utg raise is gonna be 3xBB at T50 on stars, and I don't change to 2.5xBB until T100 on stars, so take that fwiw. I'm typically not gonna stack off with an overpair vs a lower set with TT, but I'd stack off here in a 6.5 with AA, which is why I want to get at least (or as close to) 10% of my stack in preflop with those types of hands, TT being the very bottom of my raising range. Once you get 10% of your stack in pf, you make it easy to commit to your overpair hand and anyone playing to hit a set doesn't have the implied odds necessary. You can make a great argument for limping here as well, and while I can't say opening for 100 is wrong, I'm pretty sure I want only one caller, as I'm likely OOP, and TT oop is almost as hard to play as JJ (should be the opposite, but I'm much more likely to dump TT postflop). That said, this is a 6.50, and metagame matters like nothing, so there really is nothing wrong with raising different amounts based on the strength of your hand, as there are few regs in these games, and most of them aren't even paying attention. If this is a passive table, I limp this a lot, try to get in a big multiway pot, and just play it for set value. If you think you will get only one caller, then raising to t100 keeps the pot smaller and makes it much easier to play your hand oop. If you think raising to t100 gets you 3 callers, then you're pretty much screwed, as you cut down your implied odds to win a big pot by getting into a big multiway pot oop (it would have been far better to have limped in this case) which you can only take down when you hit a set.

Re: FT $6.50 TT utg
I limp pf and check the flop, prolly calling a bet.
JJ, AK is my UTG raising range here. |
