connection trouble after updating programms

Hi everyone,

my computer has trouble when software on my computer which has recently been updated tries to connect with the internet.

Let me clarify - the connection itself isnt the problem. I am writing this very post from the aforementioned computer.

But after some programs update themselves, e.g. Full Tilt, or Party Poker, ore more worringly my anti virus scan these programms can no longer use the internet.

Could this be a firewall issue? I am running sygate personal firewall.

I am quite paranoid about viruses/trojans but every piece of detection software out there says my computer is clean.

yes, that could be the firewall. each time a program updates it looks like a new program and will need to be given access to the internet again.
