22 - Marginal Push/Fold Decision
Seven handed on FTP. Raiser in this hand has been moderately active and has shown down 108s after raising from early-middle position while 9 handed. However, he hasn't been donkish. He probably has noticed I've been playing pretty tight. SB in this hand has been tight also, which makes me wonder what he would flat with here.
Blinds are 60/120 CO (3,097) SB (1,170) Hero (1,200) Hero is dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] CO raises to 360, SB flat calls. Hero? |

Re: 22 - Marginal Push/Fold Decision
If you look at the situation where the CO is pushing with any two here, your call with AQo only gives you an EV gain of about 1.5% (see ICM Calculation). Since the SB has been playing pretty tight its unlikely that he is going to get away from the hand. It's also pretty likely that he's already got a better hand than the CO so I say you should fold it away and let them fight it out.
I feel an argument could be made to push if you feel the SB is passive and has a reasonable chance of folding to your shove, then maybe you can push. Still, the CO may be feeling frisky and make a long call. Too much risk for too little gain IMO. -- Qubit |
