any reads on villain? i've played this the same way; after the reraise on the turn i just call down also. Sometimes you'll see an overplayed ten this way, and sometimes you're beat

Oh sorry; Villan was just new at the table, haven't seen special in those first 5 hands orso.

no, no problem, everyone always says that so i figured i would too
sometimes if you can say "villain is really tight, a moron lag, etc" or if you have any pokertracker stats it might make the difference between a raise and a call down--not necessarily in this hand but in general. bbb |

I'd cap the turn. Even if you are behind you should have 6 outs for the win (2 aces and 4 fives)...

I like your line here. Once I get an opponent heads-up, I often just call down with big hands like this; however, since he could easily have AT or even a worse T, I like this more aggressive line. You beat KK, QQ, JJ, and AT. The only hand we're really afraid of is TT, and I don't really understand a UTG limp with that.

[/ QUOTE ] if i was sitting at this table and saw you cap the turn with AA, i would open up your notes and type "thinks AA = instawin" or "AA = god" are you capping and then bet/calling the river? capping and then check/calling the river? i dont see how you can give him a range here that says we should cap. |

Because we are playing .5/1 with bad players. ATs and JJ-KK are very real possibilities here.
A read on villian would greatly influence how I played this... and not having extra outs on the river would also make me more likely to slowdown. |

How likely is it that we are ahead 55% of the time after the 3bet when I C/R the turn? Most players will slow down after getting checkraised on the turn, even with TPTK or an overpair. That's why I called down, expecting to loose. I even thought of folding... but since the pot had a nice size and he could indeed have JJ/QQ/KK/AT i coulnd't fold. Problem is that JJ/QQ/KK are weird given the preflop action
