All draws have missed but will he really bluff when I have shown so much strength? Do you call the river? |

This looks like it was played perfectly.

I think betting river is generally better with the line you took because he's more likely to call with worse than bet with worse.

Re: NL400: T9 makes toptwo in an unraised pot
a bet on the river probably gets called by 97, T7, T5 but I can't think of much else maybe maybe AT but I doubt it since he is a good player, then again after I have shown so much strength will he really bluff me with diamonds or an 8? Could check folding be a better play, because he only bets air or hands that beat me. I guess it's read dependant but without reads?

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah that's what I'm thinking too, he's not really going to bluff you given your most likely hand is two pair and he has no reason to expect you to fold on a complete blank of a river. [ QUOTE ] Could check folding be a better play, because he only bets air or hands that beat me. I guess it's read dependant but without reads? [/ QUOTE ] I really hate folding because there are so few hands he can have that beat you as well, given the line he took. He would HAVE to raise a straight somewhere earlier. If he had the best hand, I'm willing to bet that he had 77. He didn't want to play for stacks with bottom set in a limped pot with the straight out there, so he chose to play it more passively. But given your river check he clearly has the best hand and bets it. Did he have 77? |

He actually had 99 which really surprised me, but guaranteedbluff, do you really call a raise on the river?? I see myself never ever being good if I get raised.

Also, did you notice I was in the small blind when calling with this marginal hand? If you did, would you call if there was 2 limpers?

[/ QUOTE ] meh, if he's the kind of player that would never bluff a missed draw on the river, then fold would be ok; his line just really doesn't look like a set. regarding preflop, i think i'd need 3 limpers with T9o and 2 limpers with T9s to complete, unless the limpers are really bad players. |
