Default 25 NL - AQo OOP

5th hand at table. 1st hand I voluntarily put money in.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($36.05)
UTG ($14.90)
Hero ($19.65)
CO ($17.65)
Button ($13.40)
SB ($19.05)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.25</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls $1.25, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($2.85) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $3.5</font>, <font color="#0000FF">Hero....</font>

His raise on flop gives me a little over 8 to 1 in implied odds to draw to GSD, BDF, and an A if I call. However, some of those outs could be bad. Also, his raise commits himself to the pot.

I'd give it up here especially with no reads. Your Ace might not be any good. Might be a flush draw, but you've got a better spot I think.

I'd give up too. You might only have 3 outs, you have no reads yet, and you're OOP, button only has $9 so even if you were to hit your gutty, you're not getting as much implied odds as you would like.

Usually when I have a high pair hand, such as AQo, I try to raise enough where my stack-to-pot ratio (SPR) is small. Since I opened for 5xBB, if I get called, my SPR is 6, which makes pot commitment decisions easier. Something I picked up from PNLHE: Vol I.
