Default wait the river with a straight ?

Utg is 20.5/17.6/3.70, he's not stupid.

On the turn Utg waits 10s before 3 bet.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.40 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.70 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (11.70 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>,

edit: I call with a K,Q,J or a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the river.

I don't necessarily mind waiting here, but you should probably put in one more bet. Obviously a benefit of 4-betting is that if he is dumb and leads the river, you can just call, vs. getting 3-bet on the river if you wait, where you should probably fold, but making huge pots and folding big hands is obviously not something you want to make a habit of doing.

The thing is the flush combos are obviously tiny. He can be decently sure you don't have one though, as AcTc and AcKc give a lot more action on the flop. So if he slowplayed JJ-KK pre, he can easily think they're best. That he waited 10s on the turn is usually the nuts from a lot of players, but he may have just been doing some reasoning in his head.

Because he caught his flush. Classic timing tell.

I would be more inclined to think the opposite if anything, actually. Usually aggro guys seem to prefer to instaraise when they hit from my experience.

Ofcourse there could be a dozen other reasons, that have nothing to do with his hand, so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it.

Actually looking at it again I don't mind just calling down.

He already bet the turn. He didn't get distracted between the bet and the 3-bet - not in this pot. The pause was intentional at least nine times out of ten.

I'm quite sure, this guy c/r the river with king high or nut flush, so we gain nothing in this case, if we 4bet the turn. But if there is a river with a king, a queen or a jack, we have less than 50% of equity imo and far more than 50% with a blank. So that's the advantage to wait the river imo.
