Default Shootouts and bad beats

Hi

First the theoretical question: How do you generally play shootouts where only first place gets to the next round? I'm usually quite successful in the rebuy satelittes but suck in the shootouts. You take usually more risk in a shootout don't you? Or do you also play very TAG at the beginning and then LAG at the end?

And how do you handle bad beats? Today was such a horrible day for me. I got sucked out at every final (satellite) table. Once I got 3rd in a sat for a 1000$ seat (77<Q2), 7th in a 500$ satellite where 4 got payed (AJ<T8) etc. It's just soo annyoing if you know you went in with the best hand and still always lose! I really have to pay attention not to tilt in such a situation at the other tables...

The DS's on PokerStars are great. Especially the 10.70 to Sunday Million/Warm up. The absolute key to these are the structure. The huge difference between these and a regular sit and go are the 15 minute blind structure, compared to the 10 minute blind structures of a regular SNG. You need to play super super tight during the beginning because even if you fold your way through the first 40 minutes, the blinds are only 25/50 and your stack is almost completely intact. Also, after 40 minutes of everyone else not realizing the game is moving super slow, you're probably down 4-5 people.

Heads up skills are a must..

That's all I can say..

So you prefer the regular one's compared to the turbos?
