On Bubble, Value Bet River All In?
FullTiltPoker Game #3901608446: $20 + $2 Sit & Go (29693128), Table 1 - 100/200 - No Limit Hold'em - 11:16:55 ET - 2007/10/19
Seat 3: SurfChick (1,200) Seat 4: Villain (3,940) Seat 6: Hero (4,190) Seat 8: ThSharkIsHungry (4,170) Villain posts the small blind of 100 Hero posts the big blind of 200 Villain is known to be loose/passive and fills from the SB after the other two fold. Hero is dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and raises to 600, Villain calls. Flop K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 1,200 in the pot Villain checks, Hero bets 600, Villain calls. Turn J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2,400 in the pot Villain checks, Hero bets 1,200 and Villain calls. River J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4,800 in the pot, Villain has 1,540 left and Hero 1,790 Since we are on the bubble and SurfChick has an M of 4, is value betting the river positive tournament equity? The only hands I'm really worried about are 77, 22 and KJ and I suspect almost any other K will pay me off. Is that too optimistic? Would you value bet, and if so, how much? |

Re: On Bubble, Value Bet River All In?
More on the flop so you can stick it in on the turn. I'd still shove the river and expect to get paid by every king and possibly worse.

900 on flop, shove turn. as played, shove river.

Re: On Bubble, Value Bet River All In?
Despite Villain being typically loose/passive, is there any reason to think we're beat here and should maybe slow down?

Re: On Bubble, Value Bet River All In?
More importantly, will the last bet be called often enough by a worse hand to risk an otherwise healthy-ish 1,800 left in chips?

Re: On Bubble, Value Bet River All In?
I would guess he shoves KJ or any 2 pair on the turn. So, I can't see how you are beat here.
