Turbos - Strategy Adjustment Thread
One thing about Turbos I get frustrated with is the
lack of "recovery" time when I make a mistake. In a regularly escalating blind structure, I can screw up 2 or 3 hands and still have a shot at 1st, whereas in a Turbo, unless I run g00t pushbotting...I die! I scanned the threads and stickies for how we are adjusting our general strategy for turbos, but found nothing. I hope a good discussion can ensue here. Thanks! (if there is a thread or info, feel free to point me there/ delete this thread) -ZEN |

Re: Turbos - Strategy Adjustment Thread
By general strategy do you mean strategy for non-turbo MTTs or some pre-existing strategy for turbos you hope to improve upon?

Re: Turbos - Strategy Adjustment Thread
Pretty sure he's talking about adjusting from non-turbo MTTs to turbos...I wouldn't play many hands differently at all. That's partly because I'm laggy anyway and anyway because I'm happy to pushbot & still feel I have a definite edge.
It's also partly more objective because plays on hands are +EV or -EV & the blind structure doesn't affect that & you shouldn't be passing up edges anyway. |

Re: Turbos - Strategy Adjustment Thread
I play tighter, typically. I get rid of all FPS and play really aggressive with big hands because I don't have time later to make up for keeping the pot small now.

Strategy really shouldn't/should be affected very little by the speed of the blinds, which is why despite not having read Snyder's book it really doesn't sound great. Shoving in situation (x,y,z) is either +EV or -EV whether the blinds will be 1 zillion/2 zillion or 1/2 in 20 minutes [/ QUOTE ] The above is quoted from pokerfarian from the Snyder Very Short_thread. Agree or disagree? -ZEN |

Re: Turbos - Strategy Adjustment Thread
zen...don't necessarily agree,...the good thing about the turbos is the blinds allow you to go from short stack to CL very quickly...you have to be ready to get it in in borderline spots but you will see a lot of deseparate bad hands calling and pushing

[/ QUOTE ] single best advice is here...skip speculating and fancy play...decide if you will go all the way with the hand an if so play it all the way...don't waste chips on a lot of "i hope i hit flops" ... |
