felt 300bb's with 2nd nuts? thing is, i ALSO have the 3rd nuts...

10-25 at borgata, i think we're 8-handed at the time, i have a little less than 7500, villain covers with well over 30k on the table. i've never played with him, but after sitting at the table for a while he seems to be aggressive and good.

i limp utg with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], three more limps behind me, villain completes in the sb. bb raises to 150, everyone calls.

six players to the flop of K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

it gets checked around.

turn is the T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

sb leads 700, bb folds. i raise to 2500 total. folds to sb, who quickly announces a reraise. he makes it 5k more, which puts me all-in.

blech...if i had, like, Qd8d it'd be a much easier call...is this still a call?

this is an easy call. i feel like your thread title is very deceiving, mike. sure it's 300 bb's, but when there's an open to 6bb and 6way action, no way does it play like 300 bb's at all. i mean, there was a bet and two raises and you're all in. he does this with literally every single flush he has, there's no other way for him to play it pretty much. hell, he might even play this way with a set sometimes.

as an aside, should villain be folding everything but the nuts? im just thinking how nasty it would be if he folded 98dd face up and it was a +ev fold.

I agree that pretty much any flush (and some sets, whiffing the flop c/r) has to play this way and that you should fist pump and snap call this.

Seems like the only reason I *might* even *consider* folding is that its live poker and villain insta-shoved, something he might not do with a 9-high flush or worse..

In fact that might make it pretty close after second thought...

I would actually say the opposite. Its live, the guy is going to go hollywood with his nuts for a few seconds. Insta all in is almost never the nuts here. There is also difference between quickly going all in and Insta all in.

I think he may be more likely to go for a check-raise on the turn with the A-high flush than with a different flush since he is not afraid of a river diamond killing his hand. Just another reason to call.
