NL100 JJ faces weird preflop raise size
Villain is completely unknown. What do you do preflop? As played, how much do you bet and do you call or fold to a shove?

Re: NL100 JJ faces weird preflop raise size
Pre-flop I've been mixing it up lately, I used to 3bet this like always, but calling is fine too imo.
As played I bet $28ish and turbomuck when villain shoves. |

Re: NL100 JJ faces weird preflop raise size
This overbet is often a big pair looking to cut down on set odds, plus I don't much want to play a big pot with JJ OOP and I doubt he's folding preflop, so just flat-call preflop and proceed cautiously from there.
Flop as played, who knows. Half-pot/fold probably. |

Re: NL100 JJ faces weird preflop raise size
I thought this was 200NL, I definately won't 3bet pre-flop vs UTG+1's 7BB raise.

Re: NL100 JJ faces weird preflop raise size
At first I thought maybe villain was used to NL200 and just typed in the wrong bet size. So I figured this was a misclick quite often. What do you think?

As played I bet $28ish and turbomuck when villain shoves. [/ QUOTE ] This is bad. You commit half your stack then fold? Why are you betting? If it is a bluff, lol... if it is for value, what do you think he calls with that he won't shove with? |

If you're willing to put in one smallish bet with this hand, might as well go ahead and do it now, when you can set your price and not give any free cards. I suppose check flop, check turn, check river to induce bluff or just get to showdown is reasonable as well. Not that I'm in this spot to begin with. And if I am, I bet only 1/2 pot, that tells you what you need to know. |
