Default Looking to buy Desktop

Ok, I mainly use a sony laptop for school. I have a 22" samsung monitor that I plug it into when I'm home. I have a desktop lying around but it's real old (from 2000). I've been looking on craigslist and found this...

Dell Dimension XPS 200 Desktop (silver upright case, slim form-factor)

Intel Pentium D Processor 820 with Dual Core Technology (2.8GHz)
160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
128MB ATI Radeon X600 SE x16 PCIe graphics card
24X CD-RW/DVD Combination Drive
Integrated 10/100 Ethernet
Integrated 56K MDC Data/Fax modem
SoundBlaster Advanced MB Audio
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Dell USB Keyboard
Dell USB Optical Mouse

Add a 19" digital flat-panel display (Dell 1907FPCFlat Panel Display) for an extra $100.

Price is $350 for the everything but the monitor. Only really care about the tower and not the peripherals.

---He said he could lower the tower to 300. I'm gonna use this to multi table and do recreational stuff on or vice versa. But initially I'd be playing on the desktop and taking the laptop to school. Would this be a good buy?

I wouldn't buy a used computer when you can get new ones for not much more. Too many ways for it to go bad.

I have an E520 with that processor at home. I can 3 table and run PT pretty well on it.

It would lag a little sometimes on big uploads of PT, but twas usually pretty stable. I don't think I would give much more than 200 for a used tower though.

Yah definetly buy new man

I looked at all the computer on Craigslist my dam self and there aren't any deals really. people buy a computer for
2000 in 2005 and want to sell if for 500 but its not even worth 300. I'd definetly recommend buy individual stuff on the site like monitors and stuff but not computers.

Newegg.com dawg, dats dat good [censored]

Pentium Ds are dual processor chips.

I say dual processor because they are really two discrete processors side by side in a package. Similar to the quad core chips.
