Default What would you do here for river value? 25nl

Full Tilt Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

MP: $26.80
Hero (CO): $25
BTN: $33.60
SB: $85.50
BB: $25
UTG: $67.95

Pre-Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO)
UTG raises to $0.85, MP folds, Hero calls $0.85, 2 folds, BB calls $0.60

Flop: ($2.65) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $2.65, BB calls $2.65, UTG folds

Turn: ($7.95) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($7.95) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero ????

I think its fairly obvious that we're betting this for value. Villain is 50/20/2.5 over only 10 hands.

What do you think is the best amount here to bet for value?

I'm trying to work on getting value on the river lately.

*pulls number out of ass*
OUCH!
*wipes off number*

...um, it is a 6. So bet $6.

*bins number, washes hands, walks away in awkward manner*

Which hands do you expect to get value from?

1) Flushes: I think Adx and Kdx would have bet the turn or river, so they are probably not out there. Worse flushes probably won't call.
2) 2 pairs/straights/top pairs: I guess no (2) pair hands /straights call on this board.
3) FH: There are no worse full houses.

I think you should check it down.

Ehm, yeah they will. Especially since Hero checked turn behind. A J calls this any time, a 9 probably will too. A 2 might even call due to hero's check behind on turn, depending on how particularly stupid villain is. As long as there's only a slight chance that villain calls here with a worse hand, a bet is correct. If you check this behind you are missing insane amounts of value.

I say bet about 6.

I'm never ever checking this down. Reason behind the question was trying to find if its worth shoving etc. At this level people find it hard to get away from big flushes, so lets say villian has Ad he may even call a shove. On the flip side, some diamonds such as K / J might call a significant bet, but fold to a shove.

Just trying to see what processes and how they weight up the range of hands they are against to see where the best number lies.

I make a slightly less than half pot sized bet here. He can read that bet as weak or taking a stab. You might get called down light, or he might raise with his diamond.

Not betting a fullhouse here would be Jennifer Tilly like.
