I think this is pretty bad, pretty much no hand out there that you beat except for a pure bluff. I know this river sucks badly but I think you should've layed it down.

P.S.: I stick to my comment even if you won in some mysterious ways...

OTOH, you checking the river to him kind of induces a bluff from some missed flushdraw type of hand. I mean, you wouldn't check an 8 or better in that spot, right? I doubt opp. has something like that often enough in this spot to make the $8 call profitable though.
