Default NL 25 - Side Pot Help

Full 6 max game. Villain is a donk running 42/5/0.3 over 120 hands who covers my $33 stack.

A shorty ($3) min-raises UTG, I 3-bet to $2 w/ AA and villain calls in the SB. Shorty pushes for his final $1.1 pumping up the main pot to $9.55 preflop.

Flop comes 4 9 T rainbow. Villain checks. How much do I bet here? My normal c-bet is 3/4 pot, but in re-raised pots sometimes I bet closer to 1/2 pot. Is my bet size dependent on villain?

I wouldn't bet less than $6 on the flop, but anything there or up should be fine, I'd probably bet $7.

Why do you bet 7? Is it because the 9-T could be a straight draw?
