Default Good/bad time to use slight overbet?

Button here, is a decent to fair player. My note says- "bad to decent tagg".
We have very limited history, except last time he made a loose call on the river when I bet, and I had top pair to his third pair.

3 handed @ 5/10
Stacks
Hero ($1700)
Button ($4100)
Fish (SB) (400)

Preflop:
Button opens $40, SB fish folds, I call on BB with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
(Yes, loose call but kind of deep and 3 handed )

Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero checks, Button bets $45, Hero raises $145, Button calls.

Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($370)
Hero bets $275, Button calls.

River: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($920ish)
Hero shoves for $1,239
