Default I run a bluff 3/6

Villan is 10/8 through 50 hands so I think hes pretty tigth but no reads other than that.

He raises in lp to 24 (5 handed). I call in sb with 77 and 1k effective stack, bb calls. Flop comes 345 rainbow. I check/call 55, bb folds. Turn is a T making a backdoor flush possible. I check, he bets 140 into 180, I shove.

One of those plays where people will immediately call it high variance but I'm alright with it.

How often do you raise a flop like this? Personally I kind of like repping two pair/flopped straight/set and raising the flop and trying to shove overpairs out by turning it up on the turn.

This isn't bad.

this looks like a combo draw that picked up flush outs on the turn. I'd expect to be looked up here quite a bit.

ehh, if he's that tight i doubt he'll fold an overpair. but at least your raise is so big that he'll have to think about it? your line does look like a semibluff though.

this will probably work a decent amount of the time, and is probably best out of the 3 options (c/r flop bet turn, or call turn open shove any riv)

i mean, theoretically i think. he might respond differently to another line

Do you expect him to expect you to check call the flop with anything that beats AA? If no, are you representing squarely TT (which he might expect to reraise preflop) and maybe 67?

to make this play i think stacks need to be deeper, you want to be able to bet an amount on the turn which smells of 'if you call this you will be pot committed to calling my all in on the river', or just enough so that you can make a decent cr on the turn and then another decent fire/all in on the river.

i don't think a cr here will work often enough vs a nit who has AA/KK.
crai on turn does look very semibluffy imo.

not a fan w/o more history/read. too many ultra-nits are incapable of folding an overpair here.

This would've been a lot better with deeper stacks - even 1,200 you can c/r turn to like 420 or something and have enough left for a river bet... your bet does look a lot like a semi-bluff, I think you'll get looked up here too often. I also don't do it b/c there's nothing more [censored] irritating than watching these guys play only AA/KK where you're like "how do you WIN at poker!!??" then doubling them up and going "Oh, I see."
