I would do an essay on asking people on forums what to write college essays about. I like really ironic or hilarious essays though, as I had to write one about something very strange once, like how Brittney Spears something something freedom of the press.

write it on somebody or some situation that really influenced your life.... e.g. make up some complete [censored] story [what i did] that (maybe) never really even happened and how it affected you in a completely positive way and helped define who you are as a person

The best college admissions essays I've read are written giving a clever slant to a seemingly insignificant topic that illustrates a big idea.

For example, who would think choosing a toothpaste might be written about in humorous detail to reveal that all choices can be made positive as long as the chooser makes them so, i.e., I never make a bad decision because I make all my decisions come out right. Another example might be walking the dog. One could write about the hardships and inconveniences involved with walking a pet, but then explain how at the end of those walks there is a sense of comfort in knowing your dog is happy, illustrating that in life, as perhaps in school and studies, putting yourself out has its rewards.
