Fix leaking RAM?

I've heard that there is software that can optimize RAM. I'm not sure what that means. Bur I'm playing at a semi-bad computer now and Prima is eating all the RAM. Can RAM optimizers fix this problem?

You probably have a lot of extra programs running. Submit a HijackThis log.

RAM optimizers are junk. Don't use them.

Aren't ram optimizers basically like doing a restart? They get back any memory that isn't in use, but won't fix any other problems.
