Default Aruba Main Event Hand AJo

Ajo Aruba Hand

The table has been playing very tight. Villian had his picture taken by pocket fives and had spoken of playing a few live events. He looked about 23 or something.

He was aware I was an internet player and sometimes ranked in top 100 on p5 but didn’t know who I was.

I had been pretty active since the table was so tight and bad. I was playing something like 27/23/4. Havn’t showed down any hands at that point playing small ball, opening from lp/mp a lot.

One hand previous orbit to note where I raised hj, villain and BB called. Low flop, turn, river. No bets by anyone and the BB shows down K high to take the pot down.

My stack 14k
His stack 9kish
Blinds 50/100

Folded to me in CO.
I raise ajo to 3x (300) my standard for the level.
Villian repops to 800 in BB I call.

Pot 1650
Flop 874r

Villain Checks
I bet 1200 after about 8 seconds.
Villian check raises to 2600 after about 5 seconds.
I call.

Pot 6850
Turn 5 completing rainbow

Villain Checks after about 5 seconds.
I shove after about 5 seconds. He has around 6k left.

Thoughts??

Thanks. Pez.

I told you a bunch of reasons I don't like it in #HSMTT.

For one I don't think you're shoving this turn with any made hand and I think he'll look you up very light, because you're WAY better off checking through and calling a river bet with a made hand here than shoving on the turn.

I don't think anyone has ever c/red bluff in a three bet pot in a donkament.

When the c/r'er was the 3bettor, I agree with this. Add in the fact that it was a check/minraise (virtually), and I think the likelihood that this guy didn't flop top set is virtually zero.

hate it a lot. Fold flop. Almost no one will make such a smallish check raise there without a good hand. Why you think you'll be able to take it away from him later I have no idea. On the turn he has so much of his stack in, its going to be really tough to make him fold whatever hand he was willing to play in this fashion.
