Opponenet had big stack from set of eights and two pair hand...
he was running at 27/19/2.3

Yes, you are losing considerable value by not raising the flop. The best time to build the pot is on the flop.

Many scare cards will potentially kill the action on the turn/river. Any heart, ace, jack, even a heart! That's why it's essential to raise straight away.

If we make a handsome raise on the flop and get pushed all in, do we stack off with this non-nut str8?

raise with floped straights on draw heavy boards everytime same goes for floped flushes, alot of cards will kill your action.
