200NL - An extremely sad way to play 99: need a better line!
Assume an average villain.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) Button ($206.95) SB ($90.15) Hero ($207.30) UTG ($347.20) MP ($247.25) CO ($316.06) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $7</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero calls $5. Flop: ($15) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets $15</font>, Hero folds. Final Pot: $30 I'm OOP, so I don't like calling. Donk? Raise? |

Re: 200NL - An extremely sad way to play 99: need a better line!
<font color="#FF4444">[*] </font> Just raise preflop. As played there's nothing wrong with calling the flop and reevaluate on the turn. Donking any turn is possible for example.

Re: 200NL - An extremely sad way to play 99: need a better line!
I 3bet this preflop quite often. When I don't, I'm usually check raising this flop or calling and donking the turn.

The problem with check raising this flop is this little 2+2 voice that says I'm turning my hand into a bluff...
