Default FTP: 24+2 Rediculous RR... what hand ranges do you assign.

Honestly what hand does this?

I catagorize the villian as weak. Raised KTo UTG+1, stacked off on king high board, limped ATo MP1(i guess slow playing monsters).

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $80/$160
9 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $2160
Hero: $8525
MP1: $11363
MP2: $3515
MP3: $8500
CO: $7840
Button: $8815
SB: $3695
BB: $5090

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG+1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG folds, Hero raises to $400, 2 folds, MP3 raises all-in $8500, 4 folds, Hero

AJo+; AJs+; KdQd; maybe 88+? Can't see him doing this with mid pairs, terrible players don't do this with midpairs because they look small. Against this range, I don't think you are getting proper odds. I'd fold and obviously wait for a better spot given the blinds. If you called and he showed 77, godbless you, you are running much better than I.

I snap call with JJ here.

I just clicked fold, before it got to me, I didn't want to talk myself into calling. No hero calls on this hand...

Clearly a fold, I would give this a range of 99+, AQ+. Obviously a crazy RR, but this is hardly ever gonna be less than that.

He did this later and got looked up, flipped A9o... so who knows his range is prob quite wide.

Heh, either way you are way to deep to put yourself in such a flip.

I don't know if you can widen villian's range to A9o then you should be able to put in pairs that we are ahead of as well. It becomes more appealing to call as it moves into +ev land. However, we didn't know this before we played the hand.

When I was starting out, I did this a lot with 99-JJ. My rationale was that they were worth more than set-mining, but I was afraid of a call because of the likelihood of overcards showing up.

88 is a clear fold and I hope the next time villain makes a retard push I'm the one who can snap off a call and bust him.

Since he got looked up when holding A9o with a similar push, it's possible 88 was ahead here but you're deep enough to fold without worrying about a missed opportunity to double.

Guys like that are what allow even semi-decent players to accumulate big stacks and/or double us when we're short.
