Default Making up the implied odds on the river

Let's say I'm on a flush draw and on the turn I am getting 2.5:1 and I need 4.1:1 to break even. Lets say the pot is
$20 and it's $8 for me to call.

Does this mean I would need to make an extra $12.80 on the river for me to make this call break even?

4.1 - 2.5 = 1.6

1.6 x 8.00=$12.80

Is my math correct?

Yes, unless I'm wrong as well .

Though I calculated it a slightly different way using pot amounts instead of ratios.

4.1 x $8 = $32.80 (Needed to break even)
$32.80 (Total needed) - $20 (Current pot) = $12.80 (Extra needed)

yes you both are correct here. So that means if you do not believe you can get 12.80 more from your opp on the river then a fold would be the correct play.

What book should I read if I want to become more knowledgeable on the topic of odds?

All intro poker books discuss how to calculate odds. I don't mean to sound condescending, but there's not a ton to talk about. If you have specific questions, this is the place to ask them.

Print this chart and tape it next your monitor.

How would you define an out?

(I'm asking these stupid questions instead of reading them in a book because I'm living in south america until december, so theres no borders around the corner and shipping anything from the states is ridiculously priced)

An out is a card that wins for you.

Simple scenario: you have KK, he has AA.
You have two outs - the last two kings in the deck.

Actually, that's not quite true. Sometimes you will get more than 12.80 out him so if you average the times you don't get your payoff with the times you get more than you need you will see that you don't need to make your implied odds every time.
