Decided to give 25 NL a try and I noticed many more fish, what gives?
I regularly play 10nl and am just building my bankroll enough so I feel comfortable playing the higher limits. Well today I decided to give 25nl a shot (Full Tilt) and I saw people donking their chips away on the most ridiculous hands (bottom pair all in, gutshot all in). I'm talking abount entire stacks, not just short stacks.
Now I've played 25 NL a long time ago in my uber noobie days and I do remember a lot of people shoving their chips with garbage. I dunno, just a coincidence or do you guys notice it too? I just see more people playing ABC poker at the 10 NL limit rather than the 25 NL limit with maniacs. |

Yes this seems to make more sense. A lot of people who read these forums and practice their strategy probably start at the lowest limit, 10NL.

Don't forget -- it's the weekend. The average poker player seems to get 15% stupider on the weekends.
USEFUL NOTE: if you're thinking about moving up in levels, ease yourself into it by only playing at the higher level on the weekends. Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday at the higher level, M-F afternoon at the lower level. Pretty soon you'll be comfortable making the full jump, but at least you'll make your initial foray with the "easy" button on. |

I was on Star's playing NL25 the past two days, watching people bluff/chase their whole stacks. At first I wasn't playing, just paying my blinds and collecting FPP's, then I started to loosen my hands to my normal game (I only played AK, AQ limped, called raises or raised myself with AA-TT at first) and made a killing and my points at the same time. I was up $10-$45 at all four tables.

The NL25 players on FTP are far and away the worst players I've ever seen. I've never encountered a single player who wasn't terrible at that level.
