2/4 Deep vs. Huge Fish I had an Overpair.
Villain is terrible and the reason I am playing. He is like 70/30 preflop. Preflop for me is completely standard since I know villain will call with like T7o.
He has rarely called me down at showdown. Lots of hands I would have sets or TP or OPs and bet three streets and he would call two barrels and fold the third. As well lots of times I would c/c and snap off his big bluffs, but he might be adjusting to that and he thinks I'm overaggro and stationy. I don't think I have seen him raise a bet postflop. fwiw, they NEVER adjust to you check/calling their river bluffs. They take pleasure in bluffing you out of pots, so let them.
Based on your read, i would c/c this river just about always. These kind of people bet pretty much 100% of their range on the river when you let them. You beat most of his range. |

Re: 2/4 Deep vs. Huge Fish I had an Overpair.
I agree c/c here is best. Ace is scary since he can probably call 2 streets with A high, but w/e. What do people think about betting for value here? I think he can have an 8 here a lot, which he likely wont turn into a bluff on the river.

i bet here, 1/2 pot ish is probably about right.
dunno what you c/cers are expecting him to suddenly turn into a bluff on the river |

Dont think theres much value in betting this river, bad players just go: zomg ace my hand cant be any good now! This doesnt make much sense for a thinking player but a lot of fish think exactly like this. |

Re: 2/4 Deep vs. Huge Fish I had an Overpair.
i dont think that a 70/30 is a) adjusting or b) knows what showdown value even means. I would c/c and expect him to think you cant possibly have a good hand every time he bluffs and decide to do it again.
edit: another reason i c/c is because he prob wont pay off w/ too many hands here since he doesnt beat AK anymore |

Re: 2/4 Deep vs. Huge Fish I had an Overpair.
I think if villan is more stationy/passive we should bet like $300. We'll still get a call from 77 and other [censored] that he might have checked behind.
If he's more bluffy (ie. peels multiple streets with like QJ or whatever), I would check. |
