Default OT: JuicyV vindicated

As some of you may remember, in late November, unreal_nh made a post about how he and I had been playin as juicyv_gina on Party Poker and how they had closed the account and confiscated about 15K in funds from us, claiming that we had been using a bot. We kept talking to Party's awesome support team but for the longest time it looked like we just might get screwed.

I filed a complaint with the IGC and over the last week, started getting in contact with Mike O'Malley (poker room manager for Party). Finally, last night, got this email from Mike:

After speaking with the head of investigations and looking over the case they have made a decision to release your account and funds.

If there is anything else I can do for you please let me know.

Since our computers had been blocked from the Party network, we checked it out and in fact, it is back and running and the funds are back in.

It feels great now, it was getting to be quite a burden working so hard, and at times seemingly in vain, to get our money back and prove that they were wrong all along. I'm still very pissed at Party but very happy with Mr. O'Malley's work and just wanted to share this cuz it's such a huge relief.

BTW, i don't know if or when either of us will actually use juicyv_gina again, but we definitely won't BOTH play on it gain.

Can't say that I'm particularly happy to hear this. Two people playing on one account swindles players who try to win the TLB by honest means.

That's not why Party took their $$.

I just checked the ToC and couldn't find anything about "one player to an account". It says the name on your account must be your true name, but I could find nothing prohibiting you from then letting others use that account.

OP, did Party have anything to say about this issue?

Well, I guess it doesn't matter if you're playing $100s or $200s. However, a dedicated $20s or $30s player can get the equivalent of 30%-40% rakeback by placing high on the TLB.

Nobody that we talked to at Party ever brought this up as an issue even though we told them from the beginning about it. We didn't find anything in the T&C's either to say we couldn't and we came up with the plan pretty much following the Gigabet vs. the World month on Stars where there were a few accounts with multiple players. Like I said though, we're not gonna try it again.

Sure...I never said that this had anything to do with Party taking their money.

Yeah. I guess just like card counting in Blackjack is legal, but the casino can still harass/ban you for it.

So if anyone else decides to get tricky, be ready for the cyberspace equivalent of the cattle prod.

To the OP I am happy to hear you got your money back

To the poster I am responding to its pretty clear that if this is true: "It says the name on your account must be your true name, but I could find nothing prohibiting you from then letting others use that account" that having multiple players on one account is a violation of ToC unless you have the same name.

The name on my account is my true name. I let my friend pear888 play on it. His name is not my name. Show me the violation. I'm obviously not in violation. He's not in violation because it isn't his account.
