Default FTP $10NL 6-max

I'm contemplating starting to play this game and was wondering what people's take on the game was. How would you generally describe play? Is it mostly fish or are there some decent players? Is it a tough game or generally easy to beat? What are some qualities that are needed to beat the game? Feel free to make any comments about the game in general.

$10NL on FT is ridonkulous. Even softer than PS in my opinion.

Variance will be a bit higher because the tables tend to be insanely loose. But it's easily beatable.

Get in with a proper BR and play tight, and clean 'em up.

It's a beautiful thing, free money. Certainly don't have to be slick or do anything tricky. I agree with the last dude, play tight cause it can be kind of a mine field at times but the mines are huuuuge and real easy to spot lol.

Good luck.

I heard rumours (though i never checked out to verify them) that the rake at 10nl is higher on FTP than on Stars.

But you can get 27% Rakeback. Based on about 15k hand the rakeback is running something between 3PTBB/100 and 4 PTBB/100

PokerStars rake is 5% up to $3; FTP rake is 10% up to $2. PS being capped at $3 doesn't really make a difference, since a $40 pot is going to put you at $2 rake (on PS).

At these levels, this really makes a big difference. Rakeback will help, though, I guess.

I've been playing 6 max 10NL for the past few weeks and its definitely not as easy as everyone here makes it seem (at least in my opinion). Theres a lot of TAG's and multi-tablers, and also people who use SSNL strategies. Also after datamining hands, I've noticed even people with TAG approaches aren't crushing these games (I have stats on several people with over 4k hands where people are in the red)

I'm currently reworking my mindset on 10NL as i've been only a breakeven player and have only made money from the initial bonus and RB. But I definitely do not think 10NL is that easy.

I agree it is a minefield and the swings are huge. Just have to tighten up a bit and bet strongly, you're going to get called down lighter than at Stars. Be prepared for some huge suckouts though <- these are good things.
