200NL: Line check with top pair against aggro
Villain was fairly new to the table, but he seemed aggro and had already check raised my cbet on a previous hand. I felt like he was making a play at me, so given my read, what's the best line (particularly on the turn). Thanks.

Re: 200NL: Line check with top pair against aggro
Assuming your read is right that he was making a play at you, I think calling in position in order to let an aggro player stack off is fine. Give him the rope.
Obviously, you may end up unhappy if a free card beats you -- and there are plenty out there that may, which is a good argument for raising somewhere -- but calling is okay, too, because it allows him to continue to bluff rather than folding to a raise. |
